DOHA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- China's sharpshooters defended the Asiad team title of the men's 50m rifle three positions with an Asian record at the Lusail Shooting Complex here on Thursday.

    The Chinese trio of Zhang Fu, Zhang Lei and Liu Tianyou, collected a combined total of 3,494 points, surpassing the previous Asian mark of 3,477 points set by their compatriots in the Asian Championships in 2004.

    It was China's third consecutive time to win the Asiad team title of this event.

    Kazakhstan finished second with a total of 3,457 points, one point ahead of the third-placed India.
