Special report: Iran Nuclear Crisis

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- The White House said on Wednesday that it will have no talks with Iran until the Islamic country suspends uranium enrichment.

The "one-on-one" talks between the United States and Iran "have been ruled out" unless Iran suspends enrichment and reprocessing activities, White House spokesman Tony Snow said at a briefing.

Snow made the comments after the bipartisan Iraq Study Group released its report earlier Wednesday that suggested more engagement with the Islamic country.

The United States has been seeking to impose sanctions on Iran through the UN Security Council on the grounds that the Islamic country develops a nuclear weapon program under the cover of a civilian program. However, Iran has said that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
