KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Meteorology Department on
Tuesday forecast heavy rains and strong wind in northern peninsula because of
Typhoon Durian.
Typhoon Durian was tracking south-westerly from the southeast of Vietnam at
24 kilometers per hour, crossing the Thai Gulf and heading to Malaysia, it said
in a statement.
As a result, heavy rains and strong winds are forecast to hit most places in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis states from Tuesday night until Wednesday night, the department said.
