Wu Peng defends men's 200m butterfly gold at Asiad

    DOHA, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Chinese teenager Wu Peng made a successful defence of the men's 200m butterfly title in the most anticipated swimming competition of the night here Saturday at the Asian Games.

    Wu, who beat 2004 Olympic Games silver medalist Takashi Yamamoto to win four years ago in Busan, South Korea, once again overcame Japanese rivals to triumph in one minute 54.91.

    East Asian Games winner Takeshi Matsuda took silver in 1:55.49 while his teammate Ryuichi Shibata, silver medalist at this year's Pan Pacific championships, settled for the third in 1:56.44.
