DOHA, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Following is the list of interesting numbers of statistics and technical information of the opening ceremony of the 15th Asian Games in Doha on Friday.

    3 billion and 4,0000:

    Over 3 billion viewers were expected for the opening ceremony on TV live show and over 40,000 spectators watched the ceremony at Khalifa Stadium.

    1000 and 600:

    1000 technicians and artists and 600 staff members made the brilliant show at the ceremony.

    8,500 and 10,000:

    During the preproduction period of the ceremony, 8,500 operational meetings have been held and 10,000 sketches and renderings had been made, while 15,000 work days of operational staff were carried out.

    78,000 and 8,000

    For the ceremony, a 78,000-square-meter compound was built for auditions, rehearsals, including two fully air-conditioned indoor rehearsal facilities of 8000 square meters each.

    140 and 6,900

    One hundred and forty pairs of hands provided help for 6,900 volunteer performers from more than 20 countries and regions taking part in the ceremony, while 138,000 volunteer meals and snack packs were distributed.

    30 and 32,000

    Thirty firework technicians controlled 15 metric tons of fireworks and made 32,000 protechnical effects during the ceremony.

    10,000 and 5,000

    The ceremony used 10,000 costumes and 5,000 pair of scandles.

    The stage used 2,370 tons of steel and 58km of steel wire rope to support scenic elements.
