KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 1 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will be participating in the 12th ASEAN Summit and related summits on Dec. 11-13 in Cebu, the Philippines, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Badawi will also attend the related summits, such as the 10th ASEAN+3 Summit, the 10th ASEAN+China Summit, the Second East Asia Summit, and the Second Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle(IMT-GT) Summit, the ministry said in a press release.
The leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) hold an annual gathering since the year 2001 to discuss cooperation in all aspects among ASEAN member countries.
The 12th ASEAN Summit is expected to focus discussions on follow-up actions on all the decisions of the 11th ASEAN Summit which was held in Kuala Lumpur in December last year.
The ASEAN leaders are expected to sign or adopt some outcome documents at their gathering in Cebu.
