S. Korea to send peacekeeping troops to Lebanon

    SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Xinhua)-- The South Korean government has decided to send about 400 troops to Lebanon to join a multinational peacekeeping operation there, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported on Thursday.

    The government plans to send a battalion-size peacekeeping troops, including 270 special forces and 130 non-combat soldiers, to Lebanon, the report said.

    The National Assembly will discuss the government decision early next month and decide whether to approve the dispatchment.
