KATHMANDU, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The 11-year civil war in Nepal formally ended following the government and the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), formerly known as the guerrilla, signed a comprehensive peace accord Tuesday evening.

    Nepali Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and CPN Chairman Prachanda signed the agreement on behalf of the government and the CPN, respectively.
