HANOI,
Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said here on Friday that the
nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula is at a crucial time.
The emphasis of next step is on resuming the
six-party talks at an early date, reaffirming the Sept. 19 joint statement by
all parties and taking concrete steps in implementing the joint statement, he
added.
President Hu made the remarks in meeting with
President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Roh Moo-hyun on the sidelines of the
14th economic leaders' informal meeting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation
(APEC) that is slated for Nov. 18-19.

HANOI,
Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao on Friday expressed satisfaction
over the development of Sino-Australian relations.
"The relations between China and Australia have
maintained good momentum," Hu said when meeting with Australian Prime Minister
John Howard before the economic leaders' informal meeting of the Asia Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC).
Since the two countries agreed to develop
comprehensive and cooperative ties for mutual benefit in the 21st century, they
have conducted exchanges actively in the fields of trade and economy, culture,
science and technology as well as education and tourism, Hu said.

HANOI,
Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said here Friday that China will
work with Chile to continuously push forward bilateral overall cooperative
partnership.
Hu made the remark at a meeting with Chilean
President Michelle Bachelet. They are here to attend the 14th APEC (Asia-Pacific
Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders' Meeting here from Nov. 17 to 19.
Hu spoke highly of the development of Sino-Chilean
relations and said China attaches great importance to cooperation with Chile.
