    HANOI, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Chinese and Vietnamese top leaders agreed here Thursday to comprehensively promote bilateral ties while adhering to the principles of long-term stability, future-orientation, good neighborly friendship and overall cooperation.

    Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese president, held talks here Thursday afternoon with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nong Duc Manh and President Nguyen Minh Triet.

    They exchanged in-depth views during the talks on relations between the two parties and the two countries, as well as major international and regional issues of common concern.

    HANOI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Friday that China and Vietnam will further boost their bilateral ties and economic and trade cooperation.

    The two countries and two peoples will become good neighbors, friends, comrades as well as good partners by deepening their good-neighborly relations and expanding cooperation of mutual benefit, Hu said when meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

    Hu, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said the two countries should encourage their enterprises to explore new areas of bilateral trade, launch large-scale projects in industry, infrastructure and energy areas, and strengthen multilateral economic cooperation.

    HANOI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met on Friday with Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Phu Trong on bilateral ties.

    The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese government attach much importance to the development of Sino-Vietnamese relations, said Hu, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.

    In recent years, the National People's Congress of China and Vietnamese National Assembly have boosted their friendly exchanges and cooperation, which also contribute to the development of bilateral ties, he added.
