U.S. soldiers tried for killing
Iraqis
WASHINGTON, Aug 28 (Xinhua) -- The majority of U.S.
soldiers charged with the unlawful deaths of Iraqi civilians have been
acquitted, found guilty of relatively minor offenses or given administrative
punishments without trial, a news report said on Monday.
Experts estimate that thousands of Iraqi civilians
have died at the hands of the U.S. forces, but only 39 service members have been
formally accused of offenses in connection with the deaths of 20 Iraqis from

U.S. court begins hearing on Iraqi
rape case
BAGHDAD, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. military court
convened in Baghdad on Sunday to decide whether four U.S. soldiers will face a
court-martial over an alleged rape and murder of an Iraqi girl.
The hearing, at which officers will decide whether
there is enough evidence to bring the soldiers to court-martial, will hear
allegations that four soldiers conspired with a fifth to carry out the rape and
killing.

charged with the rape and murder of an Iraqi woman and the killing of her three
family members, the U.S. military said on Sunday.
Earlier, the U.S. military said that three were

accused of raping a young Iraqi woman and killing 4 family members including
her, is among many U.S. troops in Iraq with mental or personality disorders, The
CNN Television reported Thursday.
Quoting military documents, the report said Steven D.
Green was discharged from the military and sent home in May due to some
"anti-social personality disorder," before the rape and killing incident was

Iraqi PM wants probe into alleged U.S.
rape-slaying case
BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Iraqi Prime
Minister Nouri al-Maliki Wednesday called for an independent Iraqi investigation
into the suspected rape and murder of an Iraqi girl and the killing of her
family by U.S. soldiers.
Al-Maliki made the comments, which were his first on
