GAZA, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- Broader talks among all Palestinian factions on forming a national unity government would begin early next week, while rival mainstream movements of Hamas and Fatah are to finish their mutual talks on the coalition, a local source revealed Tuesday.

Kayed al-Ghoul from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) told the press that next week's talks would focus on the platform of the unity government and how the factions would be represented in the new formation.

Al-Ghoul, meanwhile, expressed his satisfaction over the talks that were being held between Fatah and Hamas, adding the formation of the new government is likely to be announced before the end of this month.

It was reported that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas would arrive in Gaza next Thursday, which aims at adding final touches to the formation of the new government.

However, there was no immediate confirmation of Abbas' office in Ramallah about the news.

Abbas is currently visiting Jordan and will head to Egypt later Wednesday to hold talks with Jordanian and Egyptian officials on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and in the region as a whole.

Meanwhile, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoom told reporters earlier that the new government would not recognize Israel. "No one has asked the upcoming government to recognize Israel and it will not do."

He, however, denied Israeli reports which quoted him as saying that the coming government would not recognize the two-state solution because it includes recognition of Israel. "These remarks are inaccurate," he said.
