GAZA, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- The new Palestinian
national unity government would be formed by early December, Hamas sources
revealed on Monday.
Speaking on condition of
anonymity, the sources told Xinhua reporter in Gaza that they expected the new
government would be formed no later than the first week of December.
They said that it because Hamas has reached an
agreement with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the new prime minister,
which is very likely to be assumed by academician Mohammed Shubair.
They added that the talks between Hamas and Abbas'
Fatah had entered its latest stages, including the share of portfolios among the
factions and political groups who agreed to join the new government.
Meanwhile, Palestinian local news agency Ma'an quoted
other Palestinian sources close to the talks as saying that Hamas and Fatah had
garnered eight portfolios respectively, but without specifying the portfolios
designated to each movement.
Senior Hamas and Fatah leaders resumed their last
round of dialogue in Gaza on Monday following the talks between former Fatah
Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and incumbent Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haneya on
Sunday night.
