Saddam Hussein sentenced to death by
hanging
BEIJING, Nov. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Former Iraqi President
Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging on Sunday after being found
guilty of crimes against humanity for the Dujail case. His half-brother was also
sentenced to death.
Three Saddam co-deffendants was sentenced to up to 15
years in prison, and Former Iraqi vice president was sentenced to life in prison

Iraq's court opens session to issue
verdict for Saddam
BAGHDAD, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- The trial of the former
leader Saddam Hussien and seven of his aides resumed in Baghdad on Sunday as a
verdict in Saddam's first trial is expected to be passed on the same
day.
Saddam and his former allies showed up in the dock and
chief judge Rauf Abdel Rahman ordered that the hearing began. Full story>>
Iraq tightens security before Saddam
verdict
BAGHDAD, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Iraqi
authorities will impose a curfew in the capital and two neighboring provinces
and indefinitely close Baghdad international airport on Sunday, when the court
will give a verdict in Saddam Hussein's first trial.
According to the official al-Iraqia TV on Saturday,
Baghdad's international airport would remain closed from 6 a.m. Sunday (0300GMT)
until further notice, as a security measure adopted before the Sunday verdict.

Baghdad airport to close before
Saddam's Sunday verdict
BAGHDAD, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Baghdad's international
airport would close at 6 a.m. Sunday (0300 GMT) and remain closed until further
notice, as a security measure adopted before Sunday's verdict in Saddam
Hussein's trial, Iraqi state television reported on Saturday.
The official Iraqia TV said that a curfew will also be
imposed in the capital and two neighboring provinces Diyala and Salahuddin, from
6 a.m. (0300 GMT) on Sunday. Full story>>
Iraqi PM calls for calm ahead of expected
Saddam verdict
BAGHDAD, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri
al-Maliki here Saturday called on the people to be calm when the court delivers
what Saddam Hussein "deserves" on the Dujail case.
Maliki made the call in a televised news conference after
