NANNING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) - Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao said here on Monday that the Chinese government will donate one million
U.S. dollars to the ASEAN Development Fund as a support to ASEAN's development.
Wen released the news in his speech entitled "Join Hands to Create A Better
Future for China-ASEAN Relations" at the summit marking the 15th anniversary of
the establishment of China-ASEAN dialogue.
Wen said the Chinese government will also provide funding assistance of one
million dollars for the relevant projects under the Initiative for ASEAN
Integration.
In addition, China also offers to train 8,000 ASEAN professionals in
different fields in the next five years and invites 1,000 young people from
ASEAN countries to visit China, said Wen.
" We are convinced that a strong, proud, independent, united, stable and
prosperous ASEAN will make greater contribution to world peace and development,"
Wen said.
He noted in his speech that China supports ASEAN in accelerating
integration and community building and its leading role in regional
cooperation.
