NANNING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of the ten
member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are
scheduled to arrive here to attend the Commemorative Summit marking the 15th
Anniversary of China-ASEAN Dialogue Relations, slated to be held Monday.
The participants of the China-ASEAN summit include
Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah,
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono,
Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad
Badawi, Myanmar Prime Minister General Soe Win, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee
Hsien Loong, Thai Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont, Vietnamese Prime Minister
Nguyen Tan Dung and ASEAN Secretary-General Ong Keng Yong.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will hold bilateral
meetings with the leaders respectively on the sidelines of the summit, which
aims at summing up their bilateral friendship relations and drawing up future
development course of China-ASEAN relations.
Some ASEAN countries leaders will also pay visit to
China before or after the summit.
By 1991, China established diplomatic ties with all
members of ASEAN. It became ASEAN's all-around dialogue-partnership country in
1996. Currently, China and ASEAN are bent on cementing the "strategic
partnership oriented to peace and prosperity".
