    U.S. says working with EU on Iran resolution

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- The United States said on Thursday that it is working with the EU, as well as China and Russia on the final language of a UN Security Council resolution on Iran.

  France plays down Russia's rejection of proposed sanctions on Iran

    PARIS, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- France on Thursday played down Russia's rejection over a draft resolution on sanctions against Iran's nuclear program, saying it is "normal" that each country "has its position."

    Six powers to discuss restrictive draft resolution on Iran

    Russia: Iran nuclear power plant delayed for technical reasons

    BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- The launch of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran has been delayed due to technical reasons, the head of Russia's Atomstroiexport company said Wednesday.

    Last month, Russia's nuclear chief Sergei Kiriyenko said the plant will be commissioned in September 2007, with the power generating launch to take place two months later. The plant was originally scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2006. Full story>>

  ISNA: Iran confirms enrichment program expansion

    BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhuanet) -- Iran confirmed Wednesday that it had expanded its controversial uranium enrichment program, an Iranian news agency reported.

    The semiofficial Iranian Students News Agency Wednesday quoted an informed source as confirming the second cascade had been installed two weeks ago at the Natanz pilot enrichment plant in central Iran. Full story>>
