BEIJING, Oct. 18
(Xinhuanet) -- Rapper Fabolous was shot early Tuesday at a Manhattan parking
garage, and then arrested after police found two loaded weapons in a car
carrying him and his entourage, the local police said.
Fabolous (real name: John Jackson), 28, and three
friends had just left the Diddy-owned restaurant Justin's when an unidentified
man approached them and opened fire, New York Police Department spokesperson
Sgt. Mike Wysokowski said, according to media reports.
The four jumped into a vehicle and fled, attracting
the attention of police when they ran a red light. Officers stopped them and
discovered two loaded guns in the vehicle, both of which were apparently
unlicensed, Wysokowski said. All four men were arrested, and charges were
pending.
Fabolous and his three unidentified companions told
police that that they had just left Justin's, a soul food restaurant owned by
rap mogul "P. Diddy", shortly after midnight when they were accosted in a nearby
lot by a lone gunman, who fired and ran away.
The rapper was taken to a hospital and hospitalized
in stable condition. Police were searching for the shooter.
In 2003, Fabolous was arrested three times, twice on
gun charges and once for a moving violation. Enditem
