ANKARA, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Pilot of a Turkish F-16 fighter jet was killed on Monday when the military plane crashed in eastern Turkey, a high-ranking Turkish official said.

    The F-16 fighter jet which took off from the 8th Main Base in southeastern Diyarbakir province crashed in mountainous area near Bitlis-Baykan road, the semi-official Anatolia news agency quoted Bitlis Governor Mevlut Atbas as saying.

    He said that the fuselage had been found and efforts are underway to find all parts of the plane wreckage. Enditem
