BEIJING, Oct. 13 -- An Israeli aircraft has blasted a building in a crowded Gaza neighborhood. Thursday evening's strike killed at least 8 Palestinians, including a young girl and 3 Hamas militants, and wounded 10.

The missile targeted a house of a Hamas commander. The Israeli military claimed the owner of the house, Ashraf Farawana, was involved in attacks against Israel and supplying weapons to Hamas militants. Doctors say the dead girl was about 10 years old.

Palestinians say the army did not give the customary warning to evacuate the house. Hamas' armed wing responded by firing 6 make-shift rockets into Israel.
