HANOI, Oct. 12 (Xinhua) -- Eighteen gas cylinders carried by a truck exploded in Vietnam's southern Ho Chi Minh City, claiming four lives, local media reported Thursday.
The explosion on Wednesday instantly killed three local men in the truck's cabin, including a 45-year-old driver, an 18-year-old driver assistant, and a 29-year-old gas delivery staff, and seriously injured a 25-year-old motorist who died at hospital later, Youth newspaper said.
Metal pieces from the exploded cylinders and ruined truck broke many glass windows and damaged walls of buildings, and cut telephone and electricity lines around the incident's site.
The cylinders are thought to have contained acetylene, and investigation into the incident's cause is underway, said the report. Enditem
