The United Nations Security Council on
Friday unanimously adopted a presidential statement, expressing deep
concern over the statement by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
(DPRK) that it would conduct a nuclear test in the future.(Xinhua

SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Five soldiers of the
Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) crossed the Military Demarcation
Line (MDL) between South Korea and DPRK on Saturday and returned to the north
after South Korean soldiers fired warning shots, the South Korean Joint Chiefs
of Staff said in a news release on Saturday afternoon.
According to the release, five DPRK soldiers crossed
over the MDL at 11:56 a.m. (0256 GMT) and stayed 30 meters south of the MDL
along a stream inside the demilitarized zone in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province,
despite the South Korean soldiers' five warning broadcasts.
After the South Korean soldiers fired a total of 60
warning shots, the DPRK soldiers returned to the northern side at 1:15 p.m.(0415
