(Xinhua) -- Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili pledged Wednesday to continue
Georgia's efforts to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO),

Georgia denies pursuing anti-Russian
policy
MOSCOW, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The
Georgian Foreign Ministry on Thursday denied the Russian foreign minister's
claim that Georgia was pursuing an anti-Russian policy.
During a trip to Poland, the top
Russian diplomat, Sergei Lavrov, said earlier in the day that Georgian
authorities must give up their "anti-Russian policy" in order to solve all the

Putin warns Georgia over spying row
MOSCOW, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir
Putin warned on Wednesday that he would not allow provocations and blackmail
targeting his country from Georgia, in comments on the dispute with the Caucasus
nation over its detention of Russian officers.
"I would not advise anybody to
speak to Russia in the future using the language of provocations and blackmail,"
Putin said at a meeting in the Kremlin with leaders of parliamentary factions,
