Special report: Tension escalates in Iraq
BAGHDAD, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Four U.S. soldiers were killed when Iraqi insurgents attacked their patrol by indirect and small arms fire on Thursday, the U.S. military said.
The four soldiers, assigned to Multi-National Division-Baghdad,were killed at about 9:00 a.m. (0600 GMT), the military said in a statement.
The indirect fire usually refers to mortar attack in the U.S. military statements.
About 2,725 U.S. soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003, according to media tally. Enditem
