RAMALLAH, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- A Hamas lawmaker Tuesday called for applying the Prisoners' Document of National Accordance to end political and factional disagreements among the Palestinian political spectrum.

Instead of calling for early presidential and parliamentary elections, the Prisoners' Document should be implemented to end the problem fundamentally, said Ayman Daraghma of Hamas.

The Document calls for a wider Palestinian government instead of the Hamas-led one, and a Palestinian statehood alongside Israel.

Meanwhile, Fatah and Hamas leaders traded accusations about responsibility for deadly clashes in Gaza Strip between security members loyal to President Mahmoud Abbas and the Auxiliary Forces of Hamas interior Minister.

Calling for stopping incitement and accusations, Daraghma called on the battling parties to sit together and talk.

Meanwhile, a lawmaker from Fatah party called on President Abbas to hold a public referendum on the political platform of the proposed government of national unity.

Eissa Qaraqe added that the referendum would be a means "to stop the bloodshed and civil war between the people." Enditem
