BEIRUT, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh said on Monday that Israel did not completely withdraw from Lebanese territory, and urged UN to press Israel's complete pullout.

"The Lebanese government did not receive any assurance from the United Nations on this point," Salloukh told Voice of Lebanon radio station.

He added that Lebanon awaits a detailed report regarding the Israeli withdrawal from South Lebanon by UN peacekeeping chief in Lebanon, Major General Alain Pellegrini.

Salloukh said Israel is deliberately provoking more tensions in the south to justify remaining of its forces in Ghajar village.

"Lebanon demands complete Israeli withdrawal from Shebaa farmsand Kfar Shouba hills and Ghajar village", the minister added.

He further reiterated the demand that the United Nations should press Israel to hand over maps that showing locations of landmine.

Israel withdrew several hundred soldiers who had remained in south Lebanon after the August 14 UN-brokered ceasefire that put an end to a 34-day war against Hezbollah.

The Israeli withdrawal ended a nearly three-month troop incursion into Lebanon in pursuit of Hezbollah fighters who had fired rockets on Israel. It has cleared the way for the full deployment of an international peacekeeping force that would police the border with the Lebanese army.

But the Israeli army said a handful of troops would remain on the Lebanese side of the village of Ghajar, which is dissected by the Israeli-Lebanese border, until security arrangements in the divided town are agreed with UN and Lebanese forces. Enditem
