KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad al-Siniora ruled out on Sunday possible eruption of a civil war in his country, local media reported Monday.
Speaking after his one-day visit to Kuwait on late Sunday, Siniora said the Lebanese people knew well that tension could not lead to anywhere.
Calm and wisdom were the sole means to achieve positive outcome through dialogue and accepting one another, he said.
Siniora said he had discussed with Kuwait Emir Sheikh Bah al-Ahmad al-Bah and Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad al-Bah on anumber of issues related to the recent Israeli aggression on Lebanon and its repercussions.
He added that his visit was also to thank the Kuwaiti government and people for their generous aid and assistance to the Lebanese people during the ordeal.
He stressed that both countries have identical points of view regarding Lebanon and the latest developments in the region.
Kuwaiti had agreed in July to donate 300 million U.S. dollars as well as deposit 500 million dollars in Lebanon's Central Bank to aid Lebanon for the loss of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Enditem
