    BEIJING, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani over the Iranian nuclear issue.

    Larijani informed Li of the latest development of his talks with the European Union.

    The Chinese foreign minister reiterated China's standpoint on the Iranian nuclear issue.

    China will continue to play a constructive role in working for an appropriate settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue, Li Zhaoxing said while addressing the UN General Assembly on Sept. 22.

    Diplomatic negotiation represents the best chance for resolving Iran's nuclear issue and serves the interests of all parties, he said. Enditem
