OTTAWA, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The Mona Lisa is in fragile condition but may stay in good shape if it continues to be cared for properly, scientists have found after an extensive examination of the famous painting.

A comprehensive examination of Leonardo da Vinci's 16th-centurymasterpiece, the most famous painting in Western art history, was undertaken in 2004 using special three-dimensional scanning technology from Canada's National Research Council (NRC).
