This recent undated photograph shows National Research Council of Canada (NRC) scientist Marc Rioux examining the virtual 3-D model of the Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" using a multi-resolution display system also developed at NRC. Scientists of the NRC announced the results of 3D imaging of the masterpiece during a press conference in Ottawa, Canada, saying the woman with the enigmatic smile originally wore a delicate maternity garment, her hair gathered up in a bun, details that have disappeared under varnish but are now visible using a complex laser scanner.
