BEIJING, Sept. 27 -- Controversial musician Pete
Doherty has finally gotten supermodel Kate Moss to accept a marriage proposal.
The 32-year-old runway star is said to have accepted
Doherty's latest attempt at engagement after being impressed with his efforts in
battling drug addiction.
"She has always loved him but just needed him to
straighten up," a source told Britain's Sunday Mirror. "Now there's nothing to
stop them marrying."
The source said that the proposal took place last
Wednesday, and that the couple plans to wed "within weeks."
Doherty, the 27-year-old front-man for Babyshambles,
is set to be released from rehab at London's Priory clinic sometime on Monday or
Tuesday.
