BEIJING, Sept. 23 -- The cultural exchange event, "Experience China", opened Thursday afternoon in Seoul -- with congratulations from both Chinese president Hu Jintao and ROK leader Roh Moo Hyun.

The venue will host both exhibitions and performances, and Hu Jintao said he believes it will help promote bilateral relations.

The Chinese president also said "Experience China" will give ROK people an important opportunity to understand China. The opening comes as a prelude to the planned year of Sino-ROK cultural exchange in 2007.
