NANNING, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- South China's Guangxi
Zhuang Autonomous Region traded 9.62 million tons of goods with ASEAN members in
the first eight months of this year, up 82.6 percent year-on-year.
According to local customs sources, the total value of the goods, which include 7.75 million tons of imports and
1.87 million tons of exports, was 1.59 billion U.S. dollars, up 46.6 percent.
Imports were valued at 650 million U.S. dollars, up
89.8 percent, and exports at 940 million U.S. dollars, up 26.6 percent, customs
sources said.
Vietnam, which borders Guangxi, remained the top
trade partner of the autonomous region.
Trade between Guangxi and Vietnam increased by 46.1
percent from the year-earlier level to 1.2 billion U.S. dollars, or 75.5 percent
of the region's total trade with ASEAN members, the sources added.
