CAIRO, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President
Mahmoud Abbas is expected to meet and brief Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on
Saturday on the outcome of his talks with U.S. and French presidents as well as
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Egypt's MENA news agency reported
Thursday.
Abbas met with both U.S. President George W. Bush and
French President Jacques Chirac in New York on the sidelines of the 61st UN
General Assembly session in New York.
MENA quoted Palestinian ambassador in Cairo Monzer
al-Dajani as saying that Abbas will also brief Mubarak on the meetings that he
held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
He said Abbas' visit to Egypt is part of a keenness to
consult with Mubarak over developments of the Palestinian problem, revival of
the moribund Mideast process and aggressions against the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian diplomat extolled the Egyptian
efforts in support of the Palestinian cause and the Arab issues and President
Mubarak's tireless efforts to achieve a just and durable peace in the Mideast.
Egypt, as a regional power, has been playing a
mediating role between Israel and the Palestinians. Enditem
