BEIRUT, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said Wednesday military arsenal can not solve any problem and Israel should accept that peace is necessary.

He made these remarks at a meeting with visiting Bahraini Minister of Social Affairs Fatima al-Blushi.

"Israel should realize that military arsenal, no matter how large, can not solve any problem," said Siniora.

The Lebanese premier lauded the Arab states' role in supporting Lebanon during the recent Israel-Hezbollah conflict and stressed the importance of Arab solidarity in this "crucial period."

He noted that the Lebanese people's unity in the face of the Israeli aggression led Lebanon to "victory."

Hezbollah's capture of two Israeli soldiers on July 12 triggered a 34-day conflict between the guerrilla group and the Jewish state, killing about 1,200 people in Lebanon, mainly civilians, and some 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers. Enditem
