AMMAN, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian King Abdullah II on Wednesday calls on Arab leaders to unify their position and give their top priority to the Palestinian issue over the next six months, the official Petra news agency reported.

"To find a just and lasting settlement to the Palestinian question is a priority that must top the concerns of Arab leaders, their people and the world," Abdullah said in the "We are all Jordan Youth Forum".

All sides have to work together to ensure the "settlement of this question becomes a concrete reality," said the king, underlining the Arab leaders should unify positions and adopt decisions that achieve aspirations of peoples and guarantee rights of the Arab nation.

Abdullah also called for seizing the current opportunity, referring to a political program on forming a Palestinian coalition, and investing efforts to find solution for the Palestinian issue, warning that this opportunity could be the last one.

"I look forward to the day when Palestinian brothers enjoy freedom, security and stability and participate effectively in building their country and in the Arab renaissance," he noted in a speech delivered at the end of the two-day Forum.

On Monday, Palestinian factions agreed on a new moderate political program, which called for forming a new national unity coalition government to replace the incumbent Hamas-led government. Enditem
