KABUL, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Of the 173 people killed
by suicide bomb attacks in Afghanistan this year, 151 were Afghan civilians, the
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said Wednesday in a
statement.
The statement denounced the suicide bombings as
"despicable" acts and "blatant disregard for human life and potential."

coalition forces as well as Afghan authorities.
Due to their backwardness in equipment and military
tactics, Taliban and other militants frequently carry out suicide bombings
against foreign and government targets.
A suicide bomber killed 15 people including two U.S.
soldiers in eastern Kabul, Afghan capital, just outside the U.S. embassy on
Friday, and another suicide bombing killed Hakim Taniwal, governor of the
eastern Paktia province, on Sunday.
