BAGHDAD, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Eight people were killed and 19 others
wounded when a car bomb struck two police patrols in eastern Baghdad on
Wednesday, a well-informed police source said.
"A car bomb parking on a road in Zaiyounah neighborhood went off at about
11:30 a.m. (0730 GMT) near two passing police patrols," the source told Xinhua
on condition of anonymity.
The blast badly charred two police vehicles, killing eight people and
wounding 19 others, including policemen, the source said.
Earlier, a total of 14 people were killed and 57 others wounded when a
roadside bomb blast followed by a car bombing hit a traffic police headquarters
near Baghdad's Shaab Stadium.
