Special report: Internal situation in Palestine

RAMALLAH, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement on Monday held the Hamas-led government responsible for the financial crisis in the Palestinian Territories.

"The problem was with the Palestinian government, it bears responsibility for the siege," Fatah spokesman Jamal Nazzal told radio Voice of Palestine.

"The Palestinian government has refused to honor the Palestinian National Authority's commitments before the international community and consequently put the people on a closed road," added Nazzal.

"In the past, donor nations offered aid for Palestinians as part of supporting the peace process, the aid was related to the Palestinian commitment of Oslo agreement, Nazzal said.

Nazzal called on the Hamas-led government to "reconsider its policy in order to open the way of life for the Palestinian people."

For Fatah, a coalition government based on the Prisoners' Document was better in order to get the siege lifted, said Nazzal. He believes that the Document of two-state solution would be able, if implemented, to end the suffering of the Palestinians. Enditem
