Special report: 5th anniversary of 9/11 terror attacks

    MUMBAI, India, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Washington will help India to fight against terrorists like the Mumbai train bombers, said U.S. Ambassador David C. Mulford said in Mumbai Monday.

    Mulford told a meeting to mark "the 5th anniversary of September 11" that Washington is expanding anti-terror cooperation with New Delhi.

    "We are sharing sensitive information and police and investigative best practices in forensics, threat protection and the disruption of terrorist financing," he said.

    On July 11 this year, the serial train bombings in Mumbai killed 187 and injured 800 others.

    The U.S. ambassador added that there can be no conceivable explanation or justification for these despicable acts, whether in New York, Mumbai or Malegaon last Friday.

    Some 30 people were killed and nearly 200 injured when three bombs went off outside a mosque in Malegaon of southwestern India last Friday. Enditem
