JAKARTA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian air force had been equipped with QW-3 missiles to run its peace mission in Lebanon as of Sept. 28, Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshall Herman Prayitno said on Sunday.
"Equipping the air force with such sophisticated mission is only to show the corps' seriousness in the mission. In addition, we will also send trained, experienced and best personnel in battle field," Antara news agency quoted Herman as saying in Dediri, East Java province.
Herman added the Indonesian air force would send 37 members of the Special Forces (Paskhas) and two staffers.
Herman expressed his hope that the Indonesian Air Force personnel would be able to motivate other units in the mission.
Indonesia was reportedly to send a 851-member mechanical battalion, covering 15 members of the National Force Headquarters,576 of the army, 221 of the navy and 39 of the air force. Enditem
