JERUSALEM, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli
government confirmed on Friday that its sea blockade on Lebanon was lifted and
the monitoring of Lebanese coastline handed over to a UN-backed joint naval
force.
BEIRUT, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- The head of the
UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon said Israel had lifted its naval blockade of
Lebanon on Friday after European ships began patrolling on Lebanese coasts,
Lebanese ANB TV station reported.
