Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Wu Bangguo arrived here on Friday for
a stopover on his way home after concluding a three-nation Latin American tour.
He was received at the airport on Gran Canaria, one
of the seven major islands among the Canary Islands, by Spanish government
delegate Jose Segura and the Chinese Ambassador to Spain Qiu Xiaoqi.
During his stay on the island, Wu was scheduled to
meet Segura and the head of the Autonomous Regional government of the Canary
islands.
Wu met with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet on
Thursday before leaving Santiago, capital of Chile, the last leg of his 13-day
visit.
He was scheduled to return home on Sunday morning.
