BAGHDAD, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Three bomb attacks, two of them suicide car bombs, killed 15 people and wounded 56 others on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua.

"We have three people killed and 16 others wounded when two roadside bombs went off in the morning near Nedaa mosque in Qahira neighborhood in northeast of Baghdad," the source said.

Two people were killed and 23 others injured when a suicide car bomber struck a police checkpoint near a police commando base close to Gailany gas station, the source said.

Meanwhile, a suicide bomber drove his explosive-packed car into a passing police patrol in the industrial district in eastern Baghdad, killing 10 people and wounding 17 others.

Several policemen were among the casualties.
