Special report: Tension escalates in
Iraq
BAGHDAD, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- A roadside bomb went off
in a northeastern Baghdad neighborhood on Thursday, killing a civilian and
wounding three others, a police source said.
The blast occurred at about 7:30 a.m. (0330 GMT) when
a bomb exploded near Nedaa mosque in Qahira neighborhood, the source said on
condition of anonymity.
Earlier, a suicide bomber drove his explosive packed
car into a passing police patrol in the industrial district in eastern Baghdad,
killing 10 people and wounding 17 others.
