NEW DELHI, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Iranian President Ahmedinejad reaffirmed the need to speed up cooperation in energy and infrastructure projects in a telephone talk Wednesday.
Singh called on Ahmedinejad Wednesday evening and the talk lasted for 15 minutes, the Prime Minister's Office said in a press release.
"Prime Minister and President Ahmedinejad reaffirmed the need to accelerate the implementation of all ongoing cooperation projects including those in the energy and transport infrastructure sectors," the release said.
Both of them agreed that a strong and vibrant India-Iran relationship is of strategic importance to both countries, and would be beneficial to peace and prosperity of the entire region, the release said.
They also expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations, it said. Enditem
