Special
report: Internal situation in
Palestine
RAMALLAH, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian Fatah
movement will strongly support Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas if he decided
to break up the Hamas-led government, a spokesman for Fatah said on Wednesday.
Abbas "has the right to use his authority in sacking
the current government to save the people from falling into more deterioration",
Jamal Nazzal said, adding, "If he (Abbas) decided to sack the current
government, he will find all support from Fatah movement."
The reason for sacking the Hamas government "stems
from its policy which threatens the Palestinian entity and dry up sources of
fund," said Nazzal.
The Hamas-led government has been facing a grave cash
crisis after key donors stopped its fund to the Palestinian National Authority
(PNA) after Hamas single-handedly formed the new government in late March.
Nazzal blamed Hamas on the crisis and called on the
movement to meet the international demands of recognizing Israel, the signed
accords and renouncing violence. Enditem
