    Special report: Launch of Atlantis 

After weathering tropical depression Ernesto at the launch pad, the space shuttle Atlantis is set for launch from the Kennedy Space Center at 12:29 p.m. EDT on Sept. 6, according to NASA TV on Thursday.

    WASHINGTON, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- A technical glitch has forced a delay of the launch of space shuttle Atlantis originally scheduled for Wednesday, and a launch attempt would be made on Thursday instead, NASA announced.

    Atlantis had been scheduled to be launched at 12:29 p.m. (1629 GMT) Wednesday from Florida's Kennedy Space Center on a mission to resume construction of the International Space Station. Enditem
