BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- China's top-flight club Shenzhen Kingsway playmaker Lu Bofei was injured in a robbery attempt at him, with his left wrist badly hurt, confirmed the club's spokeswoman on Tuesday evening.
The assault happened at Shenzhen's United Square, Futian District early Tuesday morning when Lu, the club's No. 10 player, walked home alone. He was injured when fighting a couple of robbers, said Li Hong, Shenzhen Kingsway's spokeswoman.
Lu, 27, had several knife wounds on both arms and left leg. His left wrist was badly hurt, with a bone broken and muscle tendon split apart, said a doctor the Shenzhen No. 2 Hospital who treated Lu.
"Lu needs two weeks to recover," the doctor added. "Yet this will not affect his everyday life and professional career." Enditem
