    MEXICO CITY, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Leftist opposition leader Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Tuesday rejected a declaration made by Mexico's top electoral court, which named his conservative rival as president-elect.

    "I will not recognize anyone who parades himself as the head of the federal government without any legitimate or democratic credentials," he told supporters in Mexico City's central Zocalo square.

    Earlier, the Federal Electoral Tribunal rejected Lopez Obrador's complaints, which had alleged electoral fraud in the July 2 election, and awarded ruling party candidate Felipe Calderon the presidency.

    While the tribunal's decision cannot be appealed, he has insisted he would continue to lead street protests against the "massive fraud" that robbed him of victory in the election.

    Lopez Obrador, a popular former Mexico City mayor, also plans to set up a parallel government and block Calderon's attempts to run the country. Enditem
